University of Visayas partners with PhilSmile to help facilitate tuition payments from abroad for OFW-supported students
Cebu, February 11 – University of Visaysas (UV), one of the Philippines’ pioneering and leading educational institutions, has partnered with PhilSmile to help in facilitating payments for OFW students and families of the university.
PhilSmile, a new payment facility that enables OFWs to directly pay for their loved ones schooling, aims to help OFW families with their goal of Makapagpatapos. Using PhilSmile, OFW parents can know and be reminded of their kids tuition needs in the Philippines. No longer do kids left behind need to worry whether the next remittance will come on time. PhilSmile allows OFWs to conveniently access payment partners/kiosks and guarantee them lower sending fees than traditional cash remittance. OFW Parents will also receive reports through PhilSmile regarding the grades of their kids, so they can also connect and make sure they are on track in school.
For schools, the University of Visayas will be able to take advantage of PhilSmile’s service to improve the school’s collections. By facilitating the bills payment on behalf of the school, PhilSmile collects the information and fees that need to be presented to OFW parents. The company takes charge in reminding parents that they need to pay for their kids tuition fees, before the due date set by the school. With PhilSmile, schools can lessen their promissory notes and lost collections. This makes the school’s job easier, while improving its own collections.
The University of Visayas has a good number of OFW-supported students, and the school is proud to partner with PhilSmile to show their dedication in helping to make tuition payments easier for these students so they can graduate from school.
